We offer classes and workshops specifically designed for expectant and new mothers to ensure a complete, safe and active class for all three trimesters and for postpartum recovery. The sessions are open to all levels, whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for a long time.
Pregnancy is a transformative milestone in a woman's life, and Prenatal Flow Yoga can guide her from conception to birth and beyond. Women will get accustomed to using their breath while their muscles are working and contracting, which will help them stay more comfortable and relaxed during labor. Practicing Prenatal Flow Yoga gives a woman access to the confidence she needs during her journey into motherhood, and helps her discover her own inner power and strength. We offer three types of classes: Prenatal Flow Yoga on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and Saturday mornings at 10:15 am, Gentle Prenatal Yoga on Sundays at 9:45 am and Rocket Mama (for students with solid yoga experience) on Thursdays at 5:30 pm.
Although yoga is generally a safe form of exercise for pregnant women, every woman’s body is different and requires attention and awareness during any exercise to ensure the body’s well being. Please obtain permission from your doctor, midwife or health provider before doing any prenatal exercise and most importantly, listen to your body. lease arrive fifteen minutes ahead of time for your first prenatal vinyasa yoga class so we can help you prepare for a wonderful experience. IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU ARRIVE BY THE START OF THE START TO ENSURE THERE IS SUFFICIENT TIME FOR YOU TO SAFELY WARM UP THE BODY (we will not permit students to join the class after the start of the asana practice for safety reasons).
We also offer periodic workshops for our prenatal students and their partners, teaching variety of yogic postures and massage techniques that help prepare the mind and body for labor, and childbirth. Please check our schedule for our next workshop. Post-natal students can attend the prenatal flow or Rocket Mama classess once you are cleared to exercise by your health care provider. We also offer Yogini & Bambini, which is a Mom and Baby class where you can practice with your little one by your side on Tuesdays at 9:30 am.
Finally, we are proud to be a partner with Stork & Sprout which provides birth and postpartum services for expectant mothers, including a wide variety of offerings to support a postive birth experience. Stork & Sprout holds monthly "Meet the Doula" meetings at our studio.
