Lakshmi Hari

Lakshmi practices Yoga as a way of living, connecting, and being more present in everything she does. Her path to teaching Yoga started with building her own practice in 2000 to address sports related injuries. This introduction quickly turned into a love for learning different styles from Vinyasa, Ashtanga, to Iyengar. Practicing Prenatal Yoga was what really shifted her experience of Yoga from a physical practice to a journey to connect with the mind. As the great Yoga guru BKS Iyengar once said, “Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.”

This ongoing self-transformation has been truly magical for Lakshmi to share as a teacher post her teacher training at Nandi in 2016. Since then, she has also got certified to teach Prenatal Yoga and has been a teacher at Butterfly Yoga (Foster City) teaching Dynamic Vinyasa and Hatha Flow and at PJCC (Foster city) teaching Kids Yoga, Family Yoga, and Hatha classes for adults.

Lakshmi grew up in India exposed to Vedic chants, learning Sanskrit in school, and performing Indian classic music on All India radio. Her classes offer a fun and accessible way to understand and appreciate the philosophy and principles of Yoga. Her goals are to support strengthening the body through asana, preventing injury through alignment and modifications, and inspiring mindfulness through meditation, chanting, and pranayama.
